PICOT is utilized by the health care community to identify and study a nursing or medical practice problem. Consequently, PICOT examples that may provide insight into the use of the PICOT process, may not be relevant to nursing practice as they are based on a medical practice problem.Describe the difference between a nursing practice problem and a medical practice problem. The recommended word count is no less than 150-200 words. This first discussion question asks you to define the difference between a nursing problem and a medical problem when it comes to a PICOT question and or practice problem. Remember, the PICOT question needs to be developed on something you as a nurse can do without a physician order. Be sure you are comparing it to something and remember to place a time frame.
