The Difference in Thinking Processes Between Adults and Juveniles

The thinking processes of adults and juveniles are vastly different. While adults tend to use more mature and complex thought processes, juveniles typically operate on a more basic level. Research suggests that this difference in thinking processes can be attributed to the distinct developmental stages of each age group. According to experts, adults have higher levels of working memory and cognitive flexibility, which allows them to process store, and recall information (Hulme and Melby-Lervåg, 2016). Juveniles, on the other hand, are more likely to rely on simple heuristics and limited resources when making decisions (Carrillo-de-la-Pena et al., 2019). The adult brain is capable of abstract thinking, making complex decisions, and handling complex tasks (Hulme and Melby-Lervåg, 2016). Adults are able to process information more efficiently and accurately, which allows them to make sound judgments and decisions. They are also better equipped to handle social settings, which is often a result of their increased understanding of the nuances of interpersonal relationships.
