Benefits of Network LayeringDiscuss two benefits of network layering.

Discuss two benefits of network layering.
Network layering offers several advantages over non-layered networks. Most notably, it allows for simplified trouble-shooting and easier management of large networks (Prescott & Wall, 2015). In addition, with a layered networking model, devices do not need to be aware of how communication takes place throughout the network, providing more scalability and flexibility (Rainbow, 2021). Layering also allows for the use of different protocols at different layers. For example, the network layer may use an Internet Protocol (IP), while the transport layer may use a Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) (Prescott & Wall, 2015). These protocols can be configured to be used together in a layered model based on the type of network being developed. It also simplifies troubleshooting when a particular layer creates an issue in the network (Rainbow, 2021). This allows for a more efficient and accurate diagnosis, allowing for faster resolution times. Ultimately, network layering helps create a simplified and flexible network architecture. With a layered network model, each layer can be configured to suit different needs and networks can be tailored to fit specific use cases (Prescott & Wall, 2015). Additionally, the layers can be configured to provide the highest levels of security and performance, while maintaining an efficient and organized network environment (Rainbow, 2021). Cont…
